A multi purpose child car seat suitable from 9kgs (around 1 year), adapting to a child of 135cm around 12 years

Adaptable Car Seat - group 1 and 2. This seat, we have found, will fit a wide range of vehicles but does require short seat belt mountings and rearward anchorage points. We are able to advise suitability if you are unsure, email  gsming@sohu.com with your car's make, model and year.

The Starlight will accommodate children from 9kgs using the 5 point harness that is fitted to the seat. Once the child has reached 15kg the harness can be removed and the seat is then used as a booster seat. The seat's back will continue to grow with the child, guiding the seat belt comfortably and safely across the shoulder. STM is produced by Recaro, a well known incar safety seat producer throughout Europe, and of course the Recaro name is a legend in the rally and motor sports profession.

Group 1 - 9kgs to 18kgs:

The seat has additional padding for a small baby when they first use the seat, reducing the seat size to fit a little bottom. The harness has shoulder pads to hold baby securely and protect from any frontal impact. This harness has two settings as you move the headrest up, the harness on this new starlight adjust automatically. A one-pull adjustment allows for correct harness tightness dependant on the bulkiness of a child's clothing, ensuring a safe, snug fit for every journey.The wide, shaped wings and head support will keep baby and child safe during any potential side impact.

Group 2 - 15 to 36kgs:

For children over 15kgs the Starlight can be used without the harness, (although the harness will fit up to 18kgs). Once 15kgs is achieved the adult 3 point seat belts can be relied upon to lock off in the event of an accident. The harness can be removed and the headrest can be adjusted in height as the child grows. The guides in the headrest make sure that the seat belt is always in the correct position across the shoulder.As the headrest height increases the side impact protection remains in place. The additional padding under the bottom can be removed when more space is needed.This seat does not have a recline setting, this makes the seat slightly narrower than others, possibly allowing fitting in the middle position of the car between 2 other child car seats. We have also found that it fits car seats that have a deep bucket shape (sports seats).

If you like this style of seat but would prefer to have a reclining seat, the Starlight SP is the same seat but with a recline feature.
